Logistics Manager

Job Description

Position Summary:

HornerXpress Worldwide is the global exporting company of the Team Horner group, supplying quality U.S. brands to over 100 countries all around the world. We’re inviting qualified candidates to join our dynamic team by applying for the position of Logistics Manager. The ideal candidate will have managerial experience and training, have extensive background in logistics and international business, knowledge of compliance with all domestic and international transportation regulations, and most importantly have a desire to learn and grow. This position requires the consistent demonstration of a “Win-Win” attitude for developing long term relationships with our vendors, customers and other members of our team.

Key Responsibilities of this role:

  • Recruiting, hiring, training, evaluating, coaching and managing all logistics team personnel
  • Creating and implementing processes and procedures to maximize efficient use of resources
  • Monitoring transportation quality, cost and efficiency
  • Researching and recommending optimal transport solutions
  • Implementing carrier management processes
  • Sharing transportation management knowledge and contacts with other Team Horner companies
  • Providing solutions to customer requests and issues related to freight and transport
  • Researching, monitoring and updating all relevant export, domestic transportation and dangerous goods compliance guidelines
  • Creating and maintaining the HXW internal compliance and security plan
  • Software improvement coordination and Liaising with other members of HXW to determine the priority list of modifications and projects
  • Proactively improving knowledge of products, processes, and solutions with continuous training and education.
  • Actively maintaining and participating in the values and culture of Team Horner

 

Required Experience

Successful candidates will have the following skills and attributes:

  • Language skills desirable
  • Pool industry experience a plus
  • Minimum 5 years’ of experience in a logistics related field
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience handling international business distribution
  • PC literate (Windows Office); experience with Salesforce a plus
  • Positive, enthusiastic and flexible attitude 
  • Team player mentality
  • Effective communication skills
  • Strong organizational abilities
  • Consistency and reliability

 

Required Education

  • Supervisory or management experience and training
  • Hazardous Materials/Dangerous Goods experience, training and certification strongly preferred
